Description:

We are all experiencing changes in our workplaces or classrooms that affect the culture of the environments in which we operate. Culture is often defined as, “The way we do things here.” Most of us work in cultures created by others. These cultures affect beliefs, aspirations, motivation levels, behaviors and performance, both for us and for the customers/students we serve.

If we want to increase our success rates, we must create culture shifts in our classrooms and offices, i.e., rethink the way we teach, train, counsel, advise, and evaluate our effectiveness. Understanding and using the growing body of research on self-efficacy and resiliency can help us make this shift.

Participants will learn:

  • How self-efficacy, resiliency, and other elements of positive psychology can help them create new cultures in their respective work settings.

  • Acquire specific knowledge, skills and tools that can be used immediately to raise the aspirations, motivation levels and overall performance of the people they serve.

Note: This will not be a workshop on organizational change. The focus will be on how we as individuals can change the mini-cultures in which we work.
